Code of Conduct

Afrique AI Lab is committed to creating a respectful, inclusive, and safe environment across all programs, initiatives, and interactions.

This Code of Conduct applies to:

  • Staff, volunteers, fellows, and interns
  • Program participants and students
  • Partners, collaborators, and community members

Respect and Inclusion

  • Treat everyone with dignity and respect, regardless of race, gender, age, religion, nationality, disability, or background.
  • Promote equitable participation and amplify underrepresented voices.

Professional Integrity

  • Act honestly and ethically in all interactions.
  • Avoid conflicts of interest and disclose potential issues promptly.

Safety and Harassment

  • Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or abuse (online or in-person) will not be tolerated.
  • Maintain professional boundaries during all activities.

Academic and Research Integrity

  • Acknowledge sources properly and avoid plagiarism.
  • Ensure research is conducted ethically, respecting participants and data protection standards.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Engage in constructive and professional dialogue.
  • Resolve disagreements respectfully and escalate unresolved concerns to designated Afrique AI Lab staff.

Reporting Violations

  • All reports are treated confidentially and reviewed promptly.

Concerns or violations should be reported to: programs@afriqueai.com

Enforcement

  • Violations of this Code may result in removal from programs, partnerships, or access to Afrique AI Lab resources.
  • Serious violations may lead to legal action, where appropriate.

  • All members of the Afrique AI Lab community are expected to uphold this Code of Conduct, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and ethical environment for all.
